The best way I can take care of my family in the future is to create an alternative lifestyle in the present, one where sensationalism is administered in much smaller doses. A lifestyle where no matter what happens or how many or few years we have, each day can be lived full of thoughts and creative food. Each chooses his interests. Mine is in the Old World at this moment, but my wish list is vast. My brother is pioneering younger locations in the same spirit: to share his passion with the rest of the family, healthy and thriving. Neither of us can bear the idea of old age in an orthodox manner, particularly in a place where systems have replaced humanity in the business of elder care.
So begins my journey in a very few short hours, to Podere Conti. For the next three months I will live at an Agriturismo, an olive farm on a rustic Tuscan hillside, with a beautiful, robust, educated and eco-conscious family. How did this come about, you may wonder. Well, I asked with my heart.
